ABOUT ME AND MY ARTWORK
Hi,my name is Lorivic Lorico Bicomong
You can call me Vic for short.I am a filipino self taught artist.I have been creating art since my childhood.Growing up besides drawing I got into other interest like dancing and singing.We migrated into USA in 1978. I joined the US Air Force within three months of living in US, served my country for six years.My first daughter Stefanie was born while I was in Germany.When I got out I got hired in the US Postal Service.While working for the post office I was given the opportunity to be an illustrator for US post office newsletter.Also, I did a mural for the the local post office. In 1991 I was blessed in having twin daughters Janelle and Jamie.I still did not fully put myself into painting because of my other interest.My cousin and I formed a band playing in events and clubs.Doing commissions enhance my knowledge in arts as a self taught artist,I was accepting challenges in painting anything that was asked of like landscapes, portraits, animals and abstracts.Under circumstances I moved to Boston in 1995 and met my wife Susan.In 2005 we moved back to California to get closer to my twin daughters.I finally got back into painting and got my first opportunity to show my artistic talent to public in 2011 when I had a solo show in midtown Sacramento CA.Currently I have been participating in art shows locally and in the Bay Area.I have been showing my paintings in Elk grove Fine Arts Center and in Sacramento Arts Center which I am also a member.I can always say its better late than never and I am not stopping yet especially now that I am retired.I hope you enjoy browsing thru my artworks.
